CARA INSTALASI WINDOWS 98

1.     Nyalakan Komputer terlebih dahulu

2.     Kemudian akan muncul startup menu akan muncul pilihan sebagai berikut :  

 1. Boot from Harddisk

 2.Boot from CD-ROM

Pilih No: 2

3.     Kemudian akan muncul dialog sebaga berikut:

1.     Start Windows 98 setup form CD-ROM

2.     Start computer wit CD-ROM support

3.     Start computer Withouth CD-ROM

Pilih No: 2

4.   Akan Muncul A:\> ( A Prompt ) Ketik “fdisk”

5.   Akan muncul sebuah pertanyaan yaitu “Do you wish to enable large disk  

     Support?”

 Ketik Y , lalu Enter.

6.   Kemudian akan muncul kotak dialog fdisk option

1.     Create DOS partition or logical DOS drive

2.     Set active partition

3.     Delete partition or logical DOS drive

4.     Display partition information

Pilih No: 1

7.   Kemudian akan muncul dialog sebagai berikut :

1.     Create Primary DOS partition

2.     Create Extended DOS partition

3.     Create Logical DOS Drive in the Extended DOS Partition

Pilih No: 1

8.    Lalu akan muncul pertanyaan” Do you wish to use maximum avaible

     Size for a primary DOS partition and make the partition active” 

Ketik ‘N’

9.    Masukkan kapasitasnya

10.   ESC, kemudian pilih 2 yaitu Create Extended partition

11.  Masukkan sisa kapasitasnya

12.  Create Logical DOS drive terserah menjadi beberapa partisi

13.  Esc, ke FDISK OPTIONS

Pilih 2 (Set active partition)

Kemudian pilih nomor 1 yaitu primary

14.  Lalu Restart komputer

15.  Lalu setelah ter-Restart tekan Esc/F2 (tergantung jenis motherboardnya)

16.  Atur BIOSnya supaya mendeteksi CD-ROMnya dengan cara pilih

Enter Setup → Pilih Boot → Atur CD-Rom yang diatas dengan cara menekan -/+

17.  Tekan f10, yes, Enter

18.  Komputer akan restart lalu pilih Boot with CD-ROM

19.  Pilih 1. Start windows 98 Setup from CD-ROM. Lalu tekan Enter

20.  Akan muncul jendela Microsoft Windows 98 Setup, tekan ENTER

untuk melanjutkan.

21.  Akan muncul lagi jendela Microsoft Windows 98 Setup lalu pilih

Format this drive ( recommended ).

22.  Semua disk akan diformat 

Format this drive.

23.  Setelah itu tunggu beberapan menit, sampai muncul tulisan setup is

Priparing is instalations

24.  Setalah itu akan muncul jendela Microsoft ScanDisk.

25.  Tunggu sampai proses selesai lalu pilih Exit, Enter.

26.  Lalu akan muncul masing-masing drive had no errors.

27.  Setelah itu muncul jendela Windows 98 Setup, terdapat kolom kecil

di dalamnya . Berisi Welcome to Windows 98 Setup, dengan tahapan :

·        Preparing to run Windows 98 setup

·        Collecting information abou your computer

·        Copying Windows 98 files to your computer

·        Restarting your computer

·        Setting up hardware and finalishing settings

28.  Pada tahapan collecting information about your computer kita mengatur

Ø Setup options → pilih typical

Ø Identification → masukkan identitas kalian

Ø Esabilishing Location → pilih Indonesia

29.  Kemudian muncul Start Copying Files, Next.

30.  Tunggu sampai proses copy selesai.

31.  Setelah proses copy selesai klik restart now.

32.  Setelah merestart akan muncul jendela Microsoft Windows 98 CD-ROM startup menu.

33.  Pilih Boot form Harddisk, Enter.

34.  Setelah itu akan muncul User Information, isi Nama dan Company,Next.

35.  Lalu muncul dialog License Agreement, Next.

36.  Lalu akan muncul dialog Windows Product Key isikan Product Keynya

Contoh : HQ6K2-QPC42-3HWDM-BF4KJ-W4XWJ.

37.  Jika proses instalasi akan ada tahap yaitu setting up hardware dan

finalizing setting.

38.  Tunggu beberapa menit sampai proses Hardware detection 100 %

39.  Lalu akn muncul jendela Startup Menu Pilih Boot With Harddisk.

40.   Lalu aka muncul Date and Time Properties atur waktunya, Apply, OK.

41.  Lalu Windows akan melakukan Updating System Setting.

42.  Lalu akan muncul lagi Startup Menu Pilih Boot Form Haddisk.

43.  Setelah selesai akan booting sepeti biasa.

44.  Setelah memasuki windows, akan muncul Enter Netwok Password.

45.  Password boleh diisi boleh tidak.

46.  Kemudian muncul pada layar awal, berisi jandela Microsoft

Windows 98, Jika tidak ingin memilih Contents yang tersedia , jika tidak ingin memilihn langsung Saja klik Close.

47.  Selesilah proses atau langkah install Windows 98. Dan sekarang sudah bisa di operasikan.
